Cruising the Zambezi

begin your journey

Kariba’s wildlife- and safari opportunities cannot be overstated – although it’s a well kept secret amongst travellers to Africa. Living aboard a large and spacious houseboat, sailing from bay to bay with ever changing views and wildlife but 2-3 meters from your bedroom window, is a travel experience found nowhere else on the continent.

A typical day onboard starts with early morning game viewing from tender boats, allowing you to explore the birdlife and enjoy wildlife from the water. You can also try your luck fishing for Kariba Bream, Cornish Jack or the infamous Tiger Fish. Back at the boat, a delicious lunch is served on deck as we sail off for our next destination. On arrival you can explore the nearby creeks and inlets with hippo and crocodile populations or just relax with a cool drink and enjoy the world drifting by. In the evening, a three course meal is served while you enjoy cocktails and the legendary Lake Kariba sunset.

Dunhu Ramambo and our Umbozha fleet will strive to give you a holiday safari experience like no other you have experienced in Africa.
